- Pick: This is just another term for an interception.

- Pick Six: Pick is for interception, as you just learned, so a pick six is when a player gets an interception and runs all the way to his end zone for a touchdown. The “six” referring to him scoring six points from the touchdown.
- Scoop and Score: This is another term used for a defensive play. It is similar to “pick six” but it is when a defense recovers, or “scoops”, a fumble and runs it in for a touchdown.

- Mossed: A less common verb, but the younger generation will use it occasionally. It refers to Randy Moss, the long time great WR, and can be used when a player makes a nice catch over a defender. “That Cornerback just got Mossed!” is how it could be used.
- Slot Receiver: He is a receiver who lines up in the slot position. The slot position is in between the Wide Receiver and the Linemen.
- Move the Chains: This term is another way to say getting a first down. It refers to the referees moving the chains, that measure the 10 yards for a first down, to the next spot.
- Scramble: When the Quarterback runs around behind the line of scrimmage to avoid the defenders and then throws the ball or runs down field.

- Three and Out: A term for when the Offense gets the ball and runs three plays but then is forced to punt after only three plays.
- Dual Threat QB: A Quarterback who can pass and also run well, such as Marcus Mariota here.
